ABOUT THE BRUINS
Boston (10-7-0) is coming off a 1-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night, the Bruins’ final stop of a three-game road trip. The team picked up victories in Arizona and Colorado prior to the shutout defeat in St. Paul.
Veteran goalie Tuukka Rask had a terrific night against the Wild, stopping 28 of 29 shots he faced in a losing effort. He remained tied for most wins (10) this season with Montreal goalie Carey Price heading into Friday night’s NHL action. Rask also has a sparkling 1.49 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage.
Left-winger Brad Marchand, coming off a spectacular World Cup tournament, leads the Bruins offensively with five goals and 11 assists. He also has three power-play goals. Meanwhile, talented Czech right-winger David Pastrnak, who has 10 goals to lead the club, was missing from the lineup Thursday with an undisclosed injury and is listed as day to day.
Jimmy Hayes is having an awful start to the season playing for his hometown club. The 26-year-old forward has yet to register a point in 15 games for the Bruins and is a club-worst minus-nine. He scored 13 goals a year ago in Boston after a career-high 19 the previous season with the Florida Panthers.
