Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 24/12/2016 (3498 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
Wow, I can’t believe it’s already Christmas Eve — this year really did seem to fly by for this fashion-lover. Nonetheless, there are still plenty of days and nights left to relish in all that is fabulous about the holiday season, including the glitter and sparkle, glitz and glam.
The best part about the holidays is that you have an entire month to celebrate the season in style, whether it’s adding a splash of bold deep red to your lips and nails, incorporating some sparkly sequins to your daytime ensemble or dressing up in a pouffy cocktail dress for a night on the town.
While I am on the topic of cocktail dresses, this season it really is all about lace, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I love the look of lace, how you can dress it up or down, make it look sexy and chic or classic and sophisticated. Lace is one versatile textile.
As far as this season’s styles go, it’s all in the detail. One of the hottest looks as far as lace detailing goes are dresses in simple sheath or shift cuts featuring sheer lace overlays that extend to the neckline.
Picture cute cocktail-length frocks cinched at the waist, with illusion necklines in lace.
Another fabulous look for the season — one that errs more on the side of sexy and sleek — is a form-fitting sleeved dress that hugs the curves with cream underlays and lacy overlays. These simple yet stunning dresses also look fabulous with monochrome overlays and underlays.
I am also a big fan of lace detailing that extends a couple of inches beyond the hemlines, creatin a sort of peek-a-boo look. Not to mention scalloped edges on the lace — I love how they create an elegant and delicate look.
And the best thing about owning a lace dress is they always seem to experience a style renaissance, so think of your purchase as a timeless investment in fashion.
Regardless of what you decide to wear to celebrate during the holiday season, I am certain you will look your fabulous best. I wish all of the lovely fashionistas out there happy holidays and a very happy new year.
