The Canada Games Sport for Life Centre is officially open for business.
Members of the local sports community and honoured guests such as Mayor Brian Bowman, Premier Brian Pallister and 2017 Canada Games president and CEO Jeff Hnatiuk were in attendance for the opening ceremonies this morning.
“This facility is about more than just infrastructure, it’s a unique and powerful place focused on community capacity building, leadership development and training, sport medicine research and treatment, and sport and healthy living activities and education,” says Hnatiuk.
The opening ceremonies consisted of an opening prayer, several speeches and videos and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The public is now welcome to come down to the facility for tours and inquire about memberships.
