It’s the Thanksgiving long weekend and many Manitobans will be digging into turkey dinner with all the trimmings, visiting family and friends or just getting the lawn and flower beds ready for the winter.
The Free Press does not publish a print edition on Monday, Oct. 9, but readers can visit winnipegfreepress.com for the latest news and information.
Many businesses and government services change their hours over the weekend. Here’s a snapshot of what’s open and closed:
SHOPPING
Most malls will be open on Monday, but with reduced hours of either 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or 11 a.m to 6 p.m.
The Forks Market is open regular hours.
Most grocery stores, including Safeway, Sobeys, Co-op, Superstore and Walmart, are open on Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Manitoba Liquor Mart stores in Winnipeg and Brandon will open at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m., except for the outlet at cityplace, which will be closed. For details on exceptions and rural Liquor Mart hours, visit www.LiquorMarts.ca/hours.
Beer vendors and private wine stores set their own hours for the holiday, so Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries suggests the best way to find out if the one near you will be open is to call.
