The mojo of home-ice advantage has propelled Manitoba into the playoffs at the Canadian mixed curling championship.

The foursome, skipped by Colin Kurz, registered a pair of impressive victories Friday to make the ‘final four’ of the championship at Winnipeg’s Fort Rouge Club.

Manitoba upended Ontario 7-5 in the morning and then beat Nova Scotia 8-7 in an extra end in the evening to finish with a 7-3 record this week.

Kurz’s squad scored a point in the 8th end to even the contest and then stole the decisive point in the extra end.

Both Ontario and Nova Scotia had superior records — but that clearly didn’t frighten Kurz and his Assiniboine Memorial team of third Megan Walter, second Brendan Bilawka and lead Sara Oliver.

Manitoba won six of its last seven games.

The must-wins continue for the local favourites.

Manitoba and Ontario (7-3) collide Saturday at 10 a.m. in one of two semi-finals. First-place Quebec (8-2) plays Nova Scotia (7-3) in the other semi-final.

The national championship game is set for 2:30 p.m. at Fort Rouge.
