Valour FC released their 28-match schedule for the inaugural Canadian Premier League season on Wednesdsay.
The Winnipeg-based soccer team will start on the road at Westhills Stadium against Pacific FC on May 1. Valour FC, which will play at Investors Group Field, will have their home opener on May 4 at 5 p.m. against FC Edmonton.
In June, Valour FC will play its first Canadian Championship match, beginning play in the second qualifying round and facing the winner between Vaughn Azzurri (League 1 Ontario) and Halifax Wanderers (CPL). The first leg of the home-and-away series will be played on the road on June 5, with the second leg taking place June 12 at IGF.
Other notable games on the schedule include a Canada Day match at home against York 9 FC, and a Labour Day meeting with Cavalry FC at IGF. Valour FC will finish the regular season where it started, as their final game will be played at Westhills Stadium on Oct. 19 against Pacific FC.
“We are very excited to welcome soccer fans to Investors Group Field for what will be an exciting first year in the Canadian Premier League,” Valour FC president & CEO Wade Miller said in a media release. “We are only a few short months away, and we hope the community is as excited as we are to welcome Valour FC to the pitch.”
