Hey there, time traveller!

EXTRA SCHOOLWORK
Bomber starting QB Michael Bishop has been getting a crash course on the offence and as the week has progressed has looked more and more comfortable at the controls.
“He’s been coming in here at night when nobody else is around and watches practice tape again and he watches game tape,” said head coach Mike Kelly.
“(Wednesday) night we had a little quarterback clinic in my office and talked about where his eyes go. He’s familiar with a lot of the concepts. And then coach (Manny) Matsakis has been taking him back and they watch film together. He’s put in the extra time that’s necessary for a guy to get prepared.
I know he’s going to be excited and there will be an adrenaline rush. My job will be to try and keep him as even-keel as possible and let him go out there and experience the game again. I’m sure it will come back quickly for him.”
HE’S KIDDING… WE THINK
Just how hard does Bishop, widely regarded as one of the strongest pivots in pro football, throw?
“They’re wearing two pairs of gloves on each hand now because the ball’s coming in there a little differently than what they’ve been used to,” said Kelly.
“Mike puts the ball on them (the receivers) in a hurry. They probably have a little kink in their neck because they have to snap their face masks around to see if the ball’s coming at them a little bit sooner. I know Brock Ralph has a swollen knuckle that he has to do the paraffin bath with. It does come in there a little differently and it makes you have a little more awareness when you run a route… maybe we were getting a little lackadaisical.”
BISHOP? WHATEVER…
A view from the other side, courtesy of the Toronto Sun: “He has a really strong arm, but has medium accuracy,” said Argos head coach Bart Andrus of the Bombers’ Bishop. “He can throw the ball a long way, but once in a while he’s off-target.
“Time is in our favour. You can’t re-design the wheel in a week. (But) he is very good and mobile and can extend the play.
“The best thing for us is to prepare for their scheme and what nuances they will create for him.”
