Blue Bombers linebacker Siddeeq Shabazz was named the CFL’s Defensive Player of the Month for July by unanimous selection.

Shabazz has 23 tackles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries through the first five games of the season. The first-year Bomber has returned two of his interceptions for touchdowns.

Shabazz missed practice on Tuesday with an ankle sprain but is expected to play on Saturday in Calgary against the Stampeders.
