The Winnipeg Ice brought out the brooms Wednesday night to finish off the Medicine Hat Tigers.
The Ice downed the Tigers 3-2 on the road in Game 4 to complete the best-of-seven series sweep and punch their ticket to the second round of the WHL playoffs for a second straight season.
Matthew Savoie scored a short-handed goal, his sixth tally of the series, before Owen Pederson added another and Ty Nash rounded out the scoring. Goaltender Daniel Hauser stood tall, as he did all series, earning the victory on the strength of 30 saves. Hauser allowed just nine goals in the series, despite the Ice being outshot in each game.

Winnipeg Ice centre Matthew Savoie scored a short-handed goal, his sixth tally of the series.
The Ice will face the remaining team who accumulated the least points during the regular season in the next round. The fourth-seed Moose Jaw Warriors also swept the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday.
The second-seed Red Deer Rebels hold a 3-1 lead over the Calgary Hitmen while the sixth-ranked Regina Pats held a 2-1 advantage over the Saskatoon Blades at the time of writing.
