Valour FC is starting to show some signs of life.
After a dreadful 0-0-5 start to the Canadian Premier League season, Winnipeg’s professional soccer club now has four points in their last two matches.
Valour earned a 1-1 draw Sunday in Calgary against Cavalry FC (1-5-1).
The visitors opened the scoring in the 31st minute with American midfielder Juan Pablo Sanchez finding the back of the net. Cavalry responded eight minutes later with former Valour midfielder Fraser Aird tying things up.
Valour’s 1-1-5 record puts them in seventh place in the eight-team circuit. They play their home opener Sunday at 4 p.m. inside Princess Auto Stadium against Vancouver FC (4-1-2).
