GATINEAU, Que. – Dominic Pilote and Jonathan Fauchon each had a goal and assist, netminder Noah Preston Moore made 27 saves and the visiting Rimouski Oceanic defeated the Gatineau Olympiques 5-1 in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action on Saturday at Centre Slush Puppie.

Pier-Olivier Roy, Maxime Coursol and Anthony Gaudet also scored for the East Division-leading Oceanic (44-13-2-2), who led 2-1 after the first period and 3-1 heading into the third. Alexandre Blais chipped in with two assists.

Jeremie Minville scored for the Olympiques (15-32-8-7), who outshot the visitors 28-22.

The Oceanic went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Olympiques were 0-for-2.

MONCTON, N.B. — Alex Mercier scored three goals and added two assists, Mathis Rousseau made 17 saves, and the Moncton Wildcats whipped the visiting Saint John Sea Dogs 8-0.

Juraj Pekarcik had a goal and three assists for the Maritimes Division-leading Wildcats (50-9-2-0), while Gabe Smith and Caleb Desnoyers each had a goal and two assists. Maxime Cote and Julius Sumpf also scored for the hosts, who led 3-0 after the first period and 5-0 heading into the third. Natan Grenier also chipped in with two assists.

Netminders Eric Young and Justin Robinson combined to make 40 saves for the Sea Dogs (21-40-0-0), who were outshot 48-15.

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Matvei Gridin’s second goal of the game, scored at 3:17 of overtime, lifted the Shawinigan Cataractes to a 3-2 win over the visiting Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

Yoan Loshing also score for the Cataractes (35-18-3-5), who led 2-1 with just over a minute left in the third period.

Justin Gendron and Anthony Lavoie scored for the Drakkar (34-23-4-1), who were outshot 27-22.

PHOENIX 3 FOREURS 2

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Louis-Alex Tremblay had a goal and assist as the Sherbrooke Phoenix edged the visiting Val-d’Or Foreurs 3-2.

Charles-Antoine Beauregard and Mavrick Lachance also scored for the Phoenix (33-22-2-4), who were outshot 37-26, but got a 35-save performance from netminder Kyan Labbe.

Samuel Fiala scored twice for the Foreurs (27-28-5-1), who trailed 2-0 after the first period and 3-1 heading into the third.

HUSKIES 4 ARMADA 3 (OT)

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Remi Gelinas scored at 3:05 of overtime to lift the visiting Rouyn-Noranda Huskies to a 4-3 win over the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

Antonin Verreault, Benjamin Brunelle and Samuel Rousseau also scored for the West Division-leading Huskies (35-18-3-5), who outshot the hosts 41-30.

Zakary Lavoie, Olivier Metcalfe and Matt Gosselin scored for the Armada (34-19-6-2), who trail the Huskies by two points. Brayden Besner chipped in with two assists.
