LOWER NORTHFIELD – Nova Scotia RCMP say they have arrested a man who had prompted police to issue a shelter-in-place order in Lunenburg County.
RCMP say in a news release that officers arrested the man whom they had described as dangerous and potentially armed.
They did not release details about possible charges.
Earlier in the day, RCMP issued an alert about a “dangerous” man who had been last seen on foot in Lower Northfield, N.S., a rural community about 80 kilometres southwest of Halifax.
Police told residents to seek shelter or stay inside, and to look out for a suspect who is six feet tall, 175 pounds with green eyes and auburn hair.
With the suspect now arrested, RCMP say their officers will be leaving the Lower Northfield area.
