Bombers lose Banjo Bowl 21-13

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers fell 21-13 to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Saturday’s Banjo Bowl at Princess Auto Stadium.
Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros left the game in the third quarter with an injury after a roughing the passer penalty.
The Bombers drop to 6-6 while the win improves the Riders to 10-2.
Next week Winnipeg travels to Hamilton to take on the Tiger-Cats on Friday.
Bombers lead Riders 13-6 at halftime

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (6-5) are leading 13-6 over the Saskatchewan Roughriders (9-2) going into halftime at the 21st annual Banjo Bowl.
Rookie Ontaria Wilson — who is making his season debut — scored a 24-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Firefighters douse early-morning fire on Redwood
11:15 AM
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue at 12:29 a.m. on Saturday morning.
At the scene, crews found two houses on fire. One house was vacant and boarded up.
Firefighters used a defensive strategy to attack the fire until it was safe to enter and use an offensive attack. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 1:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
One of the houses was previously damaged by fires in November 2023, December 2023, and on Oct. 16, 2024 and Oct. 27, 2024 and in November 2024.
RCMP search for missing Wasagamack woman
10:15 AM
On Sept. 5 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Island Lake RCMP received a report of a missing 31-year-old woman.
Roxanne Little was last seen on Aug. 22 at a family member’s residence in Wasagamack and hasn’t been seen since. RCMP said in a press release it’s possible she is no longer in Wasagamack, and could be in a nearby community or in Winnipeg.
RCMP and her family are concerned about Little’s well-being.
Little is described as 5-2, with a slim build, and long black hair. It is unknown what she was wearing last.
