Flags are flying at half-mast in Winnipeg Beach to remember a councillor who died suddenly this week.
Coun. Larry Kisiloski passed away unexpectedly Thursday.
“Larry was a great guy, simple as that. Best interest in the town at heart, a good friend, was always interested in local events,” said Mayor Stan Potten. “He was a councilman’s councillor.”
TOWN OF WINNIPEG BEACH
Coun. Larry Kisiloski died unexpectedly on Thursday.
Kisiloski was elected as a councillor for the Interlake community in 2022. He served on several community committees and boards including the East Interlake Handi-Van, Gimli Seniors Resource, Evergreen Basic Needs and the Interlake Tourism Association.
“Larry served with integrity, thoughtfulness, and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of those he represented,” the town wrote in a notice on social media. “His contributions to Council were marked by a keen intellect, clarity of thought, and a genuine desire to see our community thrive.”
Kisiloski aimed to be at every event the town hosted, Potten said. He was also an active volunteer at the Winnipeg Beach Legion No. 61.
“He was just a great guy,” Potten said.
Flags at the town municipal building and the Legion hall will fly at half-mast in Kisiloski’s honour.
