TRURO – Police in Truro, N.S., are investigating the death of a woman who was struck by a snowplow as she was walking across a parking lot on Monday morning.

The Truro Police Service says the fatal collision was reported at 6:30 a.m. from a lot adjacent to a car dealership on Queen Street.

Police say the 54-year-old victim was taken to hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The police investigation is in its early stages, but the municipal police force confirmed the snowplow belongs to a private contractor.

The victim’s name was not released.
