TORONTO – Toronto police say a suspect has been arrested in what they believe was a ‘targeted incident’ that left a woman dead in the city’s northwest.

The woman was shot and killed Friday morning in the area of Humberwood and Rexdale boulevards.

Staff Sgt. Scott Bradbury said officers received reports of an injured woman around 7:20 a.m. He said the woman died at the scene.

Police said a man was seen fleeing the area and later said a suspect had been arrested. They did not say whether any charges had been laid.

No other suspects are sought.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
