HALIFAX – RCMP in Halifax say officers have arrested a man they described as armed and dangerous.
Just after noon local time, the Mounties issued an emergency alert warning residents of a suburban neighbourhood to stay inside and lock their doors.
They said the 31-year-old suspect was believed to be in a wooded area behind the Sunnyside Mall in Bedford, north of Halifax.
Halifax Regional Police issued a statement before noon saying the man had been allegedly involved in a shooting earlier in the day in Annapolis Royal, a small community about 200 kilometres northwest of Halifax.
No details were released about that incident.
The manhunt in Bedford started after the suspect’s vehicle was found in a parking lot behind the mall in Bedford.
