Canadian receiver Jabari Arthur, the focal point of the trade with Calgary last Sunday because of his huge upside, has been placed on the nine-game injured list by the Bombers, meaning he will spend the remainder of the season on the mend.

The Bombers acquired Arthur from the Stamps as part of the deal that sent Arjei Franklin and Romby Bryant west and brought Odell Willis and Titus Ryan here and knew he was already on the mend. Although the former first-round draft pick was scheduled to come off the nine-game injured list this week, the club’s doctors examined him and determined that although he is about 85-90 per cent, he should have a pin inserted in his foot to prevent the injury from occurring again.

“It’s the best decision, long- term, for both us and Jabari,” said Bomber director of player personnel John Murphy.
