The Red River Ex mainstage lineup will have a definite honky-tonk flavour when the 10-day summer fair kicks off June 15.

Five of Canada’s top country artists will be nightly headliners, including Meghan Patrick, who earned CCMA female artist of the year and the Rising Star awards at their awards gala in Saskatoon in September 2017. The Ontario-born singer, who is now based in Nashville, headlines on June 22, with Andrew Hyatt opening.

Other country artists to play the Ex this year include Bobby Wills (June 17); the James Barker Band (June 18); the Dead South (June 19); and the Washboard Union (June 21).

Meghan Patrick

Classic-rock great Nick Gilder, who’s 1978 hit Hot Child in the City shot to No. 1 in Canada and the U.S., will join with his old band, Sweeney Todd to play the mainstage on June 20.

Ontario rockers Bleeker kick off the mainstage performances on Saturday, June 16 with Winnipeg group Attica Riots opening.

Gate tickets, which are $12 at, also provide admission to the mainstage entertainment. In May, they will also be available for purchase at Giant Tiger, Safeway, Sobeys, Peavey Mart and Mac’s outlets.

Thursday, June 21: The Washboard Union, Nice Horse

Friday, June 22: Meghan Patrick, Andrew Hyatt

Saturday, June 23: Magic!, Mathew V

Sunday, June 24: Red River Ex youth talent show
