MOON ALERT We have the all clear today to shop and make important decisions. The full moon peaks in Taurus at 2:16 p.m.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Today’s full moon could give you money jitters. You might feel pulled between putting your own interests first versus the interests of others, especially if you share property or debt with someone else. Fortunately, this dilemma will resolve itself in about 48 hours.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Today the only full moon in your sign all year is taking place. It’s inevitable that this will create tension between you and partners or close friends. Knowing this, you have to be patient and willing to compromise for the next day or two. GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Relations with co-workers could be stressed because of today’s full moon. Try not to overreact. Be patient with others. Similarly, you might be concerned about a health issue. Fortunately, all of these tensions will diminish in a day or two.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

You might feel at odds with a friend today, or even a member of a group or maybe with the entire group! (Ouch.) Don’t get bent out of shape about this because the full moon today can put a lot of people at odds with each other. Take a step back. See how things look in a few days.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

You might find working with authority figures a bit of a challenge because of today’s full moon. Or you might feel torn between the demands of home and family versus the demands of your external world or your job.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Don’t get your belly in a rash over issues regarding travel, higher education, medicine, legal matters or anything to do with publishing and the media. People tend to react during the time of the full moon, like today, for example.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

There might be disputes about shared property, inheritances, taxes, debt and anything you share with anybody else today. That’s because this particular full moon could trigger stress in those areas. But this will pass soon.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Today, the only full moon opposite your sign all year is taking place. This is bound to trigger some tension between you and partners or close friends. Your only recourse is to demonstrate grace under pressure. Be as patient as you can, because… why be otherwise?

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

The pressures of today’s full moon could trigger tension between you and co-workers, customers or anything that is job-related. Similarly, it could trigger health-related concerns. The comforting thing about full moon problems is they are short-lived. Gone in 48 hours.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Be patient with children and activities related to kids. Everybody feels the emotional hype from today’s full moon. That’s why tension with romantic partners might also be present. This doesn’t have to be major stuff. You can handle it.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Many of you will feel pulled in a tug-of-war between home and family versus career and your public reputation. You can’t keep both areas happy today. It’s just that simple. Therefore, compromise as best you can. After all, you can’t be all things to all people. Not all of the time.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is an accident-prone day because of today’s full moon. Forewarned is forearmed. Slow down and take it easy. Allow extra time for wiggle room throughout your day. Guard against knee-jerk reactions, verbally and physically.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY

Comedian/actor Tracy Morgan (1968) shares your birthday. You’re attractive and intense. You appear constant to others but in fact, you are slowly, subtly always changing. This is because you reach for more experiences in life and a deeper understanding. You want to evolve! Many of you develop technical skills or a particular technique. Get ready for a fantastic year ahead, which might be one of the most powerful years of your life. Dream big!

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

This is a tricky day. Don’t be too ambitious. It’s totally OK to kick back and relax. But be aware that communications with parents and authority figures might be confused, vague or subject to misunderstandings. Nevertheless, romance is sweet and cosy!

Not good bet to shoulder gambling issue alone

Maureen Scurfield 5 minute read 2:01 AM CDT

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: We’re living a lie over at our house, but it’s holding the family together.

I know my husband is deeply into gambling. If it weren’t for my steady job I don’t know where the family would be! I insist on paying all of our bills. I also funnel some major cash off to my sister, in case my husband tries to tap into my accounts somehow when I’m out of the house.

He doesn’t know my passwords, since I keep changing them, but he sometimes shows up behind me when I’m online, like he’s dying to ask something.

I say, “What are you looking at? Stop looking over my shoulder!” Then he makes a lame joke and goes away.

Not falling back means time loop remains unclosed

Jen Zoratti 4 minute read 2:01 AM CDT

I demand restitution. Where’s my hour?

In the traditional fall-back, spring-forward time change set up — you know, ol’ trusty that’s been effect for lo these 63 years — we lost an hour in the spring that we got back in the fall.

That was the social contract: you commit to feeling like you’re on cold medication for a week in March because you know a glorious extra hour of sleep will be returned to you in November. (Unless, of course, you have little kids, but look: we all make our choices.)

Well, that transaction, flawed as it was, isn’t happening this year. That hour you sacrificed to the sun gods in the spring? Gone. Not coming back. We’ve sprung forward and we shan’t be falling back — not in November, and (possibly) not ever. The scale shall remain unbalanced and the loop shall remain unclosed as Manitoba has adopted permanent daylight time.

Manitoba abandoning spring, fall clock changes

Carol Sanders 8 minute read Updated: Yesterday at 8:48 AM CDT

Time’s up for the time change in Manitoba.

Manitobans won’t be setting their clocks back an hour in November. The province has decided to permanently stay on daylight time after surveying residents on the twice annual clock adjustment.

“We heard from Manitobans loud and clear — no more changing the clocks in Manitoba,” Premier Wab Kinew said in a news release Thursday.

Most of the 72,000 votes submitted in an online EngageMB survey — 92 per cent — said they would like to see the practice end. The survey asked if they preferred earlier sunrises in winter with standard time or the later sunsets in summer with daylight time. More than half of survey participants (58 per cent) indicated a preference to stay on permanent daylight time; 34 per cent voted to eliminate the time change but stay on standard time.

A quick look at where provinces and territories stand on time changes

The Canadian Press 2 minute read Updated: Yesterday at 6:28 AM CDT

WINNIPEG - Manitoba's government said Thursday the province will be sticking with daylight time year-round, making it the latest jurisdiction to move away from twice-annual time changes. Here's a look at where things stand across Canada:

British Columbia said in March that it was moving to permanent Pacific daylight time. The change also means that parts of northeastern B.C., which have been on mountain standard time year round, are now in alignment with the rest of the province.

Alberta also switched to permanent daylight time this year in what it calls Alberta time. The change means it now has the same time as Saskatchewan year round.

Saskatchewan has been on permanent central standard time since 1966.
