MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or big decisions after 1 p.m. The moon is in Aquarius.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Good news! In the month ahead, you might boost your earnings or encounter favourable financial negotiations. You might also purchase beautiful items for yourself and loved ones. Things are looking up in terms of money and cash flow.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Fair Venus enters your sign to stay until mid April. This makes you charming, diplomatic and more attractive to others. It also makes you like what you see in the mirror, which means the next few weeks are the perfect time to shop for wardrobe goodies.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Your increased popularity could lead to a secret love affair, but it also could make you want to seek out solitude so you can catch your breath. After all, you can’t be all things to all people all the time.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Relations with others will become more friendly and cosy. In fact, a friend could become a lover. Listen to the feedback of others because their advice will give you an advantage or a chance to earn more or buy something pretty.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Relations with someone in authority will improve beautifully in the next four weeks. Knowing this now, make use of this situation and demand the advantage. Ask bosses and people in authority for what you want because they are biased in your favour now.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Travel for pleasure will appeal in the month ahead. Grab every opportunity to watch those telephone poles going by. If not, get thee to an airport. You will also enjoy studying new topics and seeing museums, art galleries, parks and beautiful places.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Keep your pockets open because gifts and goodies could come your way. This is a good time to discuss insurance matters, inheritances, taxes, debt and financial disputes because you’ll come out smelling like a rose. Or perhaps you prefer Coco?

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Venus moves opposite your sign where it will stay until mid April. This tells me that your closest relationships will improve. This applies to intimate and professional partnerships. Therefore, now is the time to ask for assistance from others.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

It will please you to make your workspace more attractive in the next few weeks. You can also improve your relations with co-workers, customers and clients because Venus will help you. Some of you will get a raise, and all of you will certainly get praise. (Words are cheap.)

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Romance, love affairs, vacations and playful escapes are on the menu for the next four weeks. Make plans to socialize with others. Book a long lunch or a fun getaway. Enjoy sports events and playful activities with children.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

It will please you to redecorate or do something to improve your home in the next few weeks. Many of you will buy something attractive, perhaps art. The next month is also an excellent time to explore real-estate opportunities, as well as enhance family bonds.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Lucky you! In the month ahead, you will notice more beauty in your daily surroundings. Not only that, you will also be surprised to discover just how much love there is in your world. Gosh, golly, gee.

WASHINGTON - U.S. President Donald Trump announced late Tuesday a last-minute deal to delay new tariffs from slamming an array of Canadian products for three days.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said in response there’s still important work to do.

"Over the last number of weeks, Canada has engaged in intensive discussions with the United States to address outstanding trade issues and deliver greater certainty and real benefits for Canadian businesses, workers, farmers and families," Carney said in a statement.

He said "substantial progress" has been made and Canada is focused on "building a stronger, more independent and more competitive economy at home."

Two people are facing charges for allegedly assaulting Winnipeg Transit employees in separate incidents within a 10-hour span Tuesday.

A 51-year-old man is accused of randomly throwing a beer can at a driver while exiting a bus at Dunkirk Avenue and Kingston Row at about 6 a.m.

At about 3:40 p.m., a 31-year-old woman who refused to pay bus fare at Main Street and Pioneer Avenue punched a supervisor in the face, police said.

Elections Alberta asks Elections Manitoba staffers to help during referendum

Carol Sanders 2 minute read 3:11 PM CDT

Manitoba’s non-partisan elections management agency could play a role in Alberta’s fall referendum.

“Elections Alberta has asked Elections Manitoba to send staff to assist with the referendum taking place there in October,” said Tessa Vanderhart, a spokesperson with the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Manitoba.

The Oct. 19 referendum will ask Albertans 10 questions, including “Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”

Each of the referendum questions will be on separate numbered and colour-coded ballots. They will be counted by hand, the Elections Alberta website says. With an estimated 2,966,192 voters in the province — registered as of May 2025 — there could be as many as 30 million ballots to count.
