Mystery Gala
The Society for Manitobans with Disabilities (SMD) / Easter Seals Manitoba Celebrity held its second annual Mystery Gala dinner at Club Regent Event Centre Oct. 29, in support of children, youth and adults with disabilities in Manitoba. All the funds raised at this year’s event will support the society’s Assistive Technology Support Program. Through the program, society helps Manitobans with disabilities gain access to assistive/adaptive aids and devices, which improve their daily lives and overall well-being.
Shelter support
Homes for the Holidays Red River North held its wine-and-cheese reception for sponsors and participants on Nov. 24, at the Gwen Fox Gallery in Selkirk. The event, now in its second year of hosting home and heritage holiday tours in the Selkirk, St. Andrews and St. Clements areas, was raising funds for community-housing needs in the area, including building a new women’s shelter building for Nova House and establishing the Homes For All Fund.
