DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: For years I had a big crush on my older sister’s hot-looking best friend who was often over at our house. My sister found out about my crush and told me, “I’ll kill you, if you go after my friend!” I was crushed at the time, and kept my distance, although I still had erotic dreams about that girl a lot.

This fall my sister is going to university out of province, and her friend is still here in Winnipeg, going to the same college as I am. I ran into her recently at a mall. She looked me up and down and said, “Wow!” Was she teasing me like a little boy or was she actually flirting with me now my sister’s out of the way?

More importantly, do I need my sister’s permission to ask out this friend of hers now she lives in Ontario? Please help!

Aerospace and manufacturing workers in Manitoba will be trained on digital traceability, production data and applied artificial intelligence through a government-funded pilot program.

The federal and provincial governments announced a joint $500,000 for the AeroTrace Workforce Pilot program on Thursday.

Manitoba Aerospace and Defence (formerly Manitoba Aerospace) will deliver the training through the Canada-Manitoba Workforce Tariff Response Program.

Mode40, a Manitoba firm, will assist. The data intelligence company built AeroTrace, which is a traceability and supplier-readiness platform focused on aerospace and defence supply chains.

I, too, can recall the ‘look both ways’ before crossing lessons but I often wonder whether that is part of our problem. And no — I am not suggesting that the onus is on pedestrians to watch for e-scooters, rather it is a question of common sense having gone by the wayside.

Whether it is basic life lessons, general etiquette or respect for others, much seems to have been lost along the way.
