Bachman & Turner have been hired to take care of some business for the National Hockey League.

The reunited members of Bachman-Turner Overdrive Randy Bachman and Fred Turner, are one of three musical acts playing NHL Face Off at The Forks on Oct. 6 to kick off the 2011-12 season.

The Winnipeg natives and their band will perform a set as part of CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada pre-game show before the Toronto Maple Leafs/Montreal Canadiens game. Local rock trio Inward Eye and Toronto post-grunge band Three Days Grace will also play during the free six-hour event from 3 to 9 p.m. which includes the introduction of the members of the Winnipeg Jets along with interactive games for families and a beer garden.

CBC personality George Stroumboulopoulos will host the NHL Face Off events at the Scotiabank Stage.

There will also be live local entertainment at The Forks Oct. 9 during a party for the Jets home opener against the Canadiens and a social at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Tickets for the After Burner social, featuring Blue Rodeo and Keith and Renee, are on sale now for $43 at Ticketmaster.
