Hey there, time traveller!

The Bros. Landreth will mark the 10-year anniversary of Let it Lie, the Winnipeg roots-rock duo’s debut album, May 9 at the Burton Cummings Theatre.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster, although presales start today. Prices start at $29.50 plus fees.
Let it Lie earned the Bros. — Joey and Dave Landreth — a Juno Award in 2015 and includes the song Made Up Mind, which Bonnie Raitt covered for which she earned a Grammy Award in 2023.

The concert will begin with an acoustic version of the entire Let it Lie album, followed by a selection of the Bros. Landreth’s favourites.
Comics Edwards, Arcuri coming to city
Two comedians have announced standup shows for Winnipeg stages later this year.
Derek Edwards, the Ontario comic who has starred on The Red Green Show, The Debaters and Just For Laughs, will perform at the Burton Cummings Theatre June 7.
American funnyman Jeff Arcuri, whose career took off in 2023 owing to social media and sold-out performances at the Netflix is a Joke Festival in Los Angeles, plays the Club Regent Event Centre July 27.
Tickets to both shows go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster. Tickets for Edwards start at $66, while Acuri tickets start at $34.
Just For Laughs on verge of bankruptcy
The Montreal company that operates the Just for Laughs comedy festival has cancelled this year’s event as it seeks to avoid bankruptcy.
Groupe Juste pour rire Inc. said in a news release that it is seeking protection from its creditors as it begins formal restructuring under Canada’s Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
The festival, known as the largest international comedy event of its kind, began in 1983. The company plans to continue operations in what it called a scaled-down format as it restructures.
The company has attributed its financial challenges to the pandemic, inflation and a changing entertainment industry and has said it is looking for investors or to sell parts of its business.
