After almost 38 years at CTV Winnipeg, veteran news anchor Sylvia Kuzyk is calling it quits at the end of the summer.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to serve the people in our community for these many years,” Kuzyk said in a prepared statement.
“The time has come however, for me to embark on a new direction and take time for all of those things I have kept on the back burner for years,” she said.
“There will never be another Sylvia Kuzyk,” Bill Hanson, VP and GM of CTV Winnipeg, said in a press release. People can visit Sylvia’s page and send her best wishes.
Some of Kuzyk’s many awards and achievements include:
– The Order of Manitoba
– Lifetime Achievement Award from the RTNDA
– YM/YWCA Woman of Distinction Award
– Broadcast Excellence Award from the Broadcasters Association of Manitoba
– Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Award
