Canada’s 2023 centenarian population: 11,705
Female centenarians: 9,533 (81.4 per cent)
Male centenarians: 2,172 (18.6 per cent)
Total increase since 2000: 245 per cent
Centenarian prevalence in 2000: 11.1 per 100,000 people
Centenarian prevalence in 2023: 29.2 per 100,000 people
Projected centenarian population by 2073: 106,100
Global centenarian population and prevalence in 1950: 14,000, at a rate of 0.56 per 100,000 people
Global centenarian population and prevalence in 2021: 593,000, at a rate of 7.5 per 100,000 people
