The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added another name to their stable of quarterbacks.
Former NFL prospect Casey Bramlet, a 28-year-old product of Wyoming who was a seventh-round draft pick of Cincinnati Bengals in 2004, has been signed by the club and could be on the field as early as today. The Bombers are 3-6 this season and open up the second-half of the campaign this Sunday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the annual Banjo Bowl.
Bramlet (6-4, 220) has seen action with the Bengals, with the Hamburg Sea Devils of NFL Europa (he was the MVP of World Bowl XV in 2007 ) and dressed for games with the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins and spent last season on the practice squads of both the San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens.
At Wyoming he set records for career passing yards, TD passes and completions and was the only player in school history to pass for 3,000 yards in three different seasons.
Bramlet joins starter Michael Bishop, as well as Stefan LeFors and Bryan Randall on the Bomber depth chart.
