Former Winnipeg Blue Bomber head coach Mike Kelly has had the domestic-assault charge filed against him last month dropped by a district court judge in Pennsylvania.

Kelly was charged after an incident with his ex-girlfriend at his home in Bridgeport, Pa. on Dec. 17 – the same day he was fired by the Bomber board of directors after one year at the helm. Kelly has been given a month to complete an anger-management course after which the charge would be dropped.

The Bombers confirmed earlier this week they had reached a financial settlement with Kelly that would pay him a lump-sum payment of $160,000. He had two years remaining on his contract.
