Hey there, time traveller!

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be without quarterbacks Steven Jyles and Alex Brink for the remainder of the 2010 season — meaning rookie Joey Elliott will be at the controls for the final two games.
Head coach Paul LaPolice confirmed Sunday afternoon that Jyles’ shoulder injury will keep him out for the rest of the year. Ditto for Brink, who played one series with a broken collarbone before pulling himself in Saturday’s 27-8 loss to the Toronto Argonauts.
The club has been forced to recruit two new quarterbacks, one of whom was already en route before Saturday’s loss, and LaPolice is looking for any one with CFL experience. That said, the Bomber boss did say that the club is not interested in veterans Kerry Joseph or Casey Printers.

“We’ll see how today goes. We’ve got a few people we’ve targeted,” LaPolice said. “Unless we can’t get anyone with any experience we may research those guys. But right now we’re trying to keep our options open and try to get some guys we can take a look at in practice.
“We have a list we’re trying to get through, so as we start getting through that we’ll make more announcements. This is kind of uncharted territory for me, that a one and a two (first and second-string quarterbacks) go down in the course of a week or in the course of a game. This late in the year with the NFL playing right now and the UFL playing and people not wanting to come up for two weeks, it’s a shorter group.”
LaPolice did say Adam DiMichele’s name — he was released by the team during camp – did come up because of his familiarity with the offence.
Further compounding the Bombers injury woes, left guard Brendon LaBatte has a suspected bicep injury and may not be available for Saturday’s game in Edmonton against the Eskimos.
