CHARLOTTETOWN – Winnipeg’s Jennifer Jones appears to have reclaimed the form that won her the last three straight Canadian womens curling championships.

After limping through two losses in her previous three games, Jones and her Team Canada foursome were completely dominant here Tuesday at the Canadian womens curling championship, winning both their games by a combined score of 20-6 and serving defiant notice to the rest of the 12-team field that they remain a force with which to be reckoned.

“We’re definitely playing better,” Jones said afterward. “But you should get better as you get more comfortable with the ice. We’re better, but there were still a couple misses out there.”

Jones jumped all over Newfoundland’s Stacie Devereaux Tuesday afternoon, punching out three-enders in the second, fourth and six ends en route to an easy 10-4 victory over a Newfoundland team that is now a woeful 1-6 in this event.

Jones, on the other hand, is now 5-2 and alone in third place in the standings. Earlier today, Jones beat BC’s Kelly Scott 10-2.

Saskatchewan’s Amber Holland is now alone in first place at 6-0 following an 8-5 victory over Ontario’s Rachel Homan this afternoon in a battle of the only two undefeated teams remaining in the field.

The loss dropped Homan to 5-1 and puts her alone in second place with one less loss than Jones.

Jones is now done for the day, but Team Manitoba’s Cathy Overton-Clapham is back out on the ice here this evening, taking on Alberta’s Shannon Kleibrink.

Overton-Clapham fell to 1-5 earlier today with an 8-7 extra end loss to Nova Scotia.
