Hey there, time traveller!

CHARLOTTETOWN – Win and she’s in.
That’s the simple formula confronting Team Canada’s Jennifer Jones here Thursday night as she heads into the final draw of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts round-robin needing only a victory over Alberta’s Shannon Kleibrink to advance to tomorrow’s playoffs.
Jones improved to 7-3 here Thursday afternoon with a 9-4 thrashing of Nova Scotia’s Heather Smith Dacey. If she also beats Kleibrink tonight, Canada would finish in second place in the round-robin and advance to face Saskatchewan’s Amber Holland, who is 9-1 and has already clinched first place, in the page playoff 1 vs 2 game Friday night.
The winner of the 1 vs 2 game advances straight to Sunday’s final, while the loser gets a second chance in Saturday’s semi-final.
But if Jones loses tonight, she could drop all the way into a playoff tiebreaker game just to stay alive.
“We’re not used to controlling our own destiny – it’s kind of fun. We should do this more often,” said Jones, referencing her long history of dramatic finishes at this event. “We just have to go out and play well tonight.”
Manitoba’s Cathy Overton-Clapham, meanwhile, is now done.
Manitoba played their final game at this event Thursday afternoon, defeating Newfoundland 8-7. The victory was Manitoba’s third win in their final four games and improved their finishing record to 4-7.
“Winning Manitoba was so exciting and our goal coming here was to make the playoffs and obviously that didn’t happen,” Overton-Clapham said. “We’ll just have to regroup and get ready to play at the Players Championship.”
