When the NHL-return celebration finally dies down, a well-fed few Winnipeggers will be able to say this about the announcement:
It’s been a slice.
Boston Pizza restaurants are making good on a promise made a few weeks back that everyone who’s in one of their Winnipeg lounges to watch the announcement of the NHL’s return to the city will be offered a free personal pizza.
A spokesperson at the chain’s Kenaston Boulevard location said extra staff were being brought in to deal with an expected rush of slice-seeking hockey fans.
Doors will open at Boston Pizza restaurants around the city at about 10:50 a.m., just in time for the NHL-related news conference at 11 a.m.
