The league-leading Winnipeg Blue Bombers were shut out of the Players of the Month selections released by the CFL this morning.

The league announced that Calgary Stampeders quarterback Henry Burris was named offensive player of the month for August. BC Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian was named defensive player of the month, Montreal Alouettes kicker Sean Whyte was named special teams player of the month and Stamps receiver Johnny Forzani was named Canadian player of the month.

The selections are made by a panel of judges that includes TSN personalities Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde.

The Bombers were a perfect 3-0 as a team during the month of August, but registered just one player of the week selection — linebacker Joe Lobendahn, who was honoured for his performance in last week’s 30-27 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
