WINNIPEG – The National Hockey League has come calling on Winnipeg’s on-ice hockey official Brett Montsion.
He has been invited to the 2011/12 NHL officials training camp in Collingwood, Ont. He will join other officiating prospect and current NHL officials Sept 10-11, for his first taste of NHL level officiating.
Montsion has worked as an official in the WHL the last two seasons, as well as the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, including ANAVET Cup assignments.
The camp will feature on-ice development and skating sessions, with the opportunity to be added to the NHL officials roster for this season.
Other Winnipeggers expected to be at the camp are current NHL officials Ryan Galloway and Vaughan Rody.
