Hey there, time traveller!

The news is not good for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers run game.
Running backs Fred Reid and Carl Volny are both done for the season with ACL injuries, the club confirmed Monday. The injuries happened on two separate plays in Winnipeg’s 25-24 loss to the Toronto Argonauts Saturday night.
“Losing both of our talented running backs is never an easy thing,” Bombers general manager Joe Mack said in a statement. “Unfortunately injuries are part of the game and we have to move on and look ahead at our other options. We wish both Fred and Carl the best in their recoveries.”
Reid, a 29-year-old tailback out of Mississippi State, suffered his injury in the first half of the game. The reigning CFL rushing champ, the import back finishes his 2011 season with 181 carries for 759 yards and four touchdowns.
A five-year veteran, Reid has put together back to back 1,300-plus seasons in Winnipeg. This year, he sat second in league rushing, trailing only Montreal’s Brandon Whitaker (906 yards).
Volny, a fifth-round draft pick by the Bombers in the 2011 CFL college draft, saw limited action behind Reid this year. He had nine carries for 72 yards. The 23-year-old from Montreal was hurt on a special teams coverage play later in the game.
As for other running back options, the cupboard is somewhat bare — for now. Second-year man Chris Garrett has spent this year on the practice roster and is expected to be given every chance to earn the starter’s reps. The club is bringing in another back, Bloi-Dei Dorzon (from Jackson State), for a look Tuesday, when the club resumes practice.
More information on the Bombers other injuries suffered in Saturday’s game will be provided Tuesday, the team said.
Winnipeg (8-4) takes on the Montreal Alouettes (7-5) at Canad Inns Stadium Friday night.
