Today is Remembrance Day, recalling the formal end of World War I at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.

On Remembrance Day — also known as Poppy Day, Armistice Day or Veterans Day — Commonwealth countries remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty since World War I.

Ceremonies will be held around the province to mark the day.
