PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE — Top seed Jennifer Jones, fourth seed Barb Spencer and sixth seed Jill Thurston all improved to 3-0 here at the Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts Thursday morning.

Jones hammered Lori Forbes of the The Pas 10-0, Spencer defeated Stonewall’s Kelsey Boettcher 8-4 and Thurston thumped Brandon’s Kelsey Russill 12-3. In the only other game this morning, eighth seed Darcy Robertson improved to 2-1 with a 9-2 win over Terry Ursel of Plumas.

With the 10-0 shellacking at the hands of Jones, the Forbes foursome has now been outscored 33-1 in their first three games this week.

The Scotties continues on the 12:15 p.m. draw when third seed Chelsea Carey plays Kim Link of East St. Paul, second seed Cathy Overton-Clapham plays Lisa Menard of Dauphin, fifth seed Janet Harvey plays Lisa DeRiviere of Miami and seventh seed Michelle Montford plays Brandon’s Liza Park.
