Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 23/04/2012 (5092 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added one player, released two others and watched someone leave via free agency over the last 24 hours.
The CFL club announced the signing of import offensive lineman Jordan Taormina. The 6-foot-7, 330-pound Oklahoma State-product played tackle with the Cowboys before moving on to start at guard for Everett of the Indoor Football League.
The Bombers also announced the release of import quarterback Brandon Summers and non-import running back Nick FitzGibbon.
Summers spent most of the 2011 season on the practice roster, dressing for two games as the third-string quarterback. FitzGibbon joined the club in August and played in five regular season games and in the playoffs.
Winnipeg also watched non-import free agent receiver Aaron Hargreaves officially sign with the Edmonton Eskimos Monday. Hargreaves spent the last four seasons in Blue and Gold.
In non-player news, the club plans to unveil a new logo and helmet design Tuesday morning. It’s believed the club is ditching the ‘lightning bolt’ logo in favour of the stand alone white ‘W’ on the gold helmet. New team uniforms — a league-wide initiative for this season — will be revealed May 1.
