Vladimir Putin made a surprise visit to Canada House at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi on Friday and Winnipeg speedskater Brittany Schussler had the chance to take a special ‘selfie.’

Schussler posted a picture of herself and the Russian president on her Twitter account.

“I should have asked him to be my Valentine,” she tweeted.

"I should have asked him to be my Valentine," Schussler tweeted with the photo.

Schussler is back on the oval Sunday (8 am CT) when she competes in her preferred event, the 1,500-metre race.

Putin visited both USA House and Canada House, dropping in with his healthy security detail at the gathering spots for athletes and their families in Olympic Park.
