LOS ANGELES – The Jets have recalled goalie Michael Hutchinson, less than 24 hours after sending him back to St. John’s of the AHL. Hutchinson never even made it to the airport.

Also recalled from St. John’s are defenceman Zach Redmond and Ben Chiarot.

It appears one of the Jets two goalies, either Ondrej Pavelec or Al Montoya may not be available for Monday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks.

Pavelec missed six games with a lower-body injury but went back into the net on Saturday lasting just 20 minutes as he allowed three goals on 16 shots.

The Jets took Sunday off and there was no player or management availability. The Jets responded to an email requesting further information on the reason for Hutchinson’s recall by saying head coach Paul Maurice would clarify the situation on Monday at the team’s morning skate in Anaheim. The Jets meet the Ducks Monday night.

The 22-year-old Chiarot has played in 63 games with the IceCaps this season scoring five goals and 17 points. Chiarot has played in one career NHL game with the Jets against the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this season.

Hutchinson, 24, has played in 22 games with the IceCaps compiling a 15-5-1 record, 2.33 goals-against average and 0.923 save percentage this season.

Redmond, 25, has played in three games for Winnipeg this season while seeing action in 37 games for the IceCaps scoring six goals and 21 points.

Redmond has played in 11 career NHL games.
