The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed slotback Clarence Denmark to a contract extension through the 2016 season.
The club announced Friday morning that Denmark — who leads the team in receiving yards with 646 and is second overall in the CFL — will play for the Bombers for at least two more seasons after this one.
Denmark, who is in his fourth season with the Bombers, also led the club in receiving yards last season and in his 4 years as a Bombers has caught 225 passes for 2,985 yards and 11 TDs. He also has a current active streak going that has seen him catch at least one pass in each of the last 26 Bombers games.

“Clarence is the prototypical professional. He shows up to work every day, works as hard as anybody on the football field and in the meetings rooms, leads by example both on and off the field, and is the definition of a team-first athlete,” Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters said in a statement released by the club Friday morning. “Those are the types of players you build your football team around, and we are very pleased to have Clarence with us for the next few seasons.”
“This organization has been so good to me since I first got into the CFL in 2011,” Denmark said in a statement. “The way the franchise is operating now, with the people from the top down, there is such a positive and professional atmosphere and vibe for us as players, and I am very glad to continue being a part of that. The fans of this team are incredible, and I can’t say that also wasn’t another factor in deciding to remain a Bomber. In the grand scope, this is really the place to play Canadian football.”
