The Winnipeg Jets have added a little more depth to their defensive prospect pool.
The club announced Thursday the signing of Czech defenceman Jan Kostalek on a three-year, two-way, entry-level contract with an average annual value of $850,000.
The 20-year-old is in his third season with the Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL and has 43 points (7G, 36A) in 55 games. A member of the Czech junior team, Kostalek was drafted by the Jets in the fourth round (114th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.
