University of Manitoba Bisons receiver Nic Demski dropped from fifth to ninth on the final rankings released Friday morning by the CFL Scouting Bureau in advance of next month’s CFL draft.

Bombers GM Kyle Walters had talked openly this winter about the possibility of using his club’s second overall pick in the 2015 draft to select a hometown kid in Demski, but Walters might not need to use such a high pick if today’s final rankings play out accurately next month.

The Bombers also have the 11th and 15th overall picks in next month’s draft and could conceivably use their second overall pick to take one of four offensive linemen ranked in today’s top six and then either hope Demski is still around by the time they get to pick again or package their remaining picks to trade up to a higher selection.

The four top offensive linemen in next month’s draft are Brett Boyko (2 — UNLV); Alex Mateas (3 — Connecticutt), Danny Groulx (5 — Laval) and Sukh Chungh (6 — Calgary). Boyko and Mateas are both also likely to attract NFL interest — as will top-ranked DL Christian Covington — which would make them a risky pick to take with a high selection.

Demski was the only Bison player and the only Manitoban to crack the top 20 in today’s rankings.

The CFL draft will be held May 12. The Ottawa Redblacks have the first overall pick.

Here’s the complete rankings the Scouting Bureau released today (in brackets is where the players ranked on the last scouting bureau report):
