Hey there, time traveller!

Tickets for the 2015-16 Manitoba Moose season are on sale this week, and at prices lower than the 2010-11 season when the AHL team last played in the MTS Centre.

Bought in full season-ticket packages or 29-, 20- or 11-game mini-packs, Moose tickets will come in a just three price points — $25, $20 or $15 before fees.

That’s an average price, for the inventory, of $19.63, as compared to the 2010-11 season, when it was $22.40. The top ticket the last time the Moose played here went for $35.20.

“We’re just trying to make it as affordable as we possibly can, recognizing that there are lots of fans that can’t afford to buy season tickets to the Jets,” True North chairman Mark Chipman said Monday. “We just wanted to make it as market-friendly as we can, frankly. This is not really a business move as much as it’s a hockey move for our organization.

“So that’s where the real benefits will be gained for us… having those players here. If we can run a viable business off it, great. But we really wanted to make it affordable and get as many people building as we can.”

By comparison, NHL tickets in Winnipeg this season went from $52 to more than $180 face value in single-game sales, but vary widely depending on opponent. True North said a year ago its true average ticket price was $81 for the Jets.

The Moose will play most nights in front of a lower-bowl-only capacity of 8,812, though there will be some nights with special promotions with the upper deck will be used, the team said Monday.

Moose tickets are available this week in two pre-sales, and then on Friday to the general public. No multi-year commitments are required.

Pre-Sale 1

Monday to 10 p.m. tonight; all Jets P1 subscribers may purchase a full season of Moose tickets in their actual Jets seats. Customers were contacted by the Jets about this option and given instructions to buy.

Pre-Sale 2
