Hey there, time traveller!

Winnipeg Blue Bombers QB Matt Nichols says he’s had more fun at practice this week than he’s had in years.
Nichols — who will make his first start for the Bombers in Saturday’s Banjo Bowl at Investors Group Field — says the trade that brought him to the Bombers last week after five-plus seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos has been a “breath of fresh air.”
“I’ve had the most fun playing football this last week than I’ve had in the last few years. It’s fun to me right now. I’ve had a great time this week and I’m just excited to go out and do everything I can to help this team win.
“I love it here. And in my mind, I’d love to be here (long term).”
Nichols will be Winnipeg’s fourth starting quarterback in the last five games when he takes the field Saturday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Winnipeg has lost four straight games — and six of their last seven — and an offence that has been moribund ever since starting QB Drew Willy went down with a leg injury on Aug. 9 has been the biggest reason for a 3-7 record that now has the Bombers in danger of missing the playoffs for the fourth straight season.
Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea said Friday, following his team’s final practice this week, that Nichols’ CFL experience will give him a presence on the field on Saturday that Brian Brohm and Robert Marve both lacked in relief of Willy the last few weeks.
“He’s got six years of CFL experience — that poise, that leadership, the understanding of the CFL game… He’s going to bring that on to the field with him, he’s going to bring that into the huddle, he’s going to bring that into his decision-making on each and every play,” said O’Shea.
Winnipeg lost 37-19 to the Riders in Regina last Sunday in what was the first victory of 2015 for the 1-9 Riders.
Despite their poor record, Winnipeg is just one win out of a playoff spot heading into this weekend. The Bombers announced Friday afternoon they have sold 34,250 tickets to Saturday’s game.
