Voters in Elmwood-Transcona will have a chance to “speed-date” their candidates and see them debate at two events Tuesday in the riding.

In the morning, the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second Candi-Dating session, where business owners and individual voters can bring issues directly to candidates from both Elmwood-Transcona and Saint Boniface-Saint Vital.

In the evening, some of Elmwood-Transcona’s four candidates will face off in the riding’s first debate, hosted by the Public Service Alliance of Canada. So far, NDP candidate Daniel Blaikie, Liberal candidate Andrea Richardson-Lipon and Green candidate Kim Parke have confirmed their attendance. Organizers say they haven’t had confirmation from Conservative MP Lawrence Toet.

Here are the details of both events.

  • Candi-Dating session, hosted by the East Chapter of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Canad Inns Club Regent.
  • Elmwood-Transcona All-Candidates forum, hosted by PSAC. 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Ambassador Room at Canad Inns Club Regent.
