Hey there, time traveller!

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers go into their next biggest game of the year without veteran centre Dominic Picard.
Picard will miss this Friday’s CFL contest in Ottawa, where the 5-10 Bombers meet the 8-6 Redblacks. Winnipeg is in dire need of victories in its quest for the final playoff spot in the league’s West Division.
Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea said today that Picard is now ruled out of this weekend’s game. He missed practice both Tuesday and today after failing to finish last Saturday’s 29-26 road win over the B.C. Lions.
“I don’t think he’ll make the trip,” O’Shea said after today’s practice at Investors Group Field. “He’ll see the doctor tomorrow and we’ll know more. We’ll have that evaluation on everything and hopefully he’ll be ready for next week.”
The Bombers meet the Redblacks back here a week from Saturday in the back end of that back-to-back set.
Picard’s absence means second-year pro Matthias Goossen will move into the centre spot, as he did to finish last week’s game in Vancouver.
Also missing from practice today was third quarterback Dominique Davis, who has gone home to attend to a family matter. O’Shea said he believes Davis will be able to join the team for Friday’s game in Ottawa.
“We believe so. We’ll get that all sorted out today,” the coach said.
Today marks the CFL’s trade deadline and the coachin indicated no major moves were in the works.
The focus is clearly on winning a second straight game, something Winnipeg has been unable to accomplish all season.
“It’s been a mystery for us,” O’Shea said. “We’ll solve that this week.”
