The Winnipeg Jets have a chance to do something at MTS Centre on Monday night that they haven’t done all season — win three games in a row.

The Jets are riding a two-game winning streak heading into their game tonight against the Colorado Avalanche and will be attempting to win three games in a row for the first time since they won three in a row late last season during run that extended from Apr. 4-7, 2015.

The Jets have won two games in a row six previous times this season, but each time recorded a loss in their third game.

The Jets will once again ice an injury-depleted lineup Monday night — Mark Scheifele, Adam Lowry and Drew Stafford are all still on injured reserve and the Jets will press J.C. Lipon into service tonight against Colorado.

Lipon — who had eight goals and 17 points in 30 games with the Moose this season — will be making his NHL debut at left wing, playing on the Jets fourth line with Andrew Copp at centre and Anthony Peluso on the right wing.

Jets captain Andrew Ladd was asked about the injury adversity his team is facing heading into a critical matchup against a Central Division rival that beat Winnipeg the two times the teams faced each other previously this season.

“Obviously a couple pieces come out, but it’s an opportunity for the other guys to come in and help out,” said Ladd. “It’s a little adversity but we seem to be able to handle it well.”

The Jets are last in the Central Division, two points behind sixth place Colorado, but the Avs have played one more game than the Jets.
