A new season-high winning streak is one again on hold for the Winnipeg Jets.
Winners of their last two games heading into Monday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche, the Jets could have extended their streak to three games, which would have made it the first time this season to reach that feat.
Instead, the Jets were unable to bounce back from a two-goal period from the Colorado, who left the MTS Centre Monday night with a 2-1 win.

With the loss, the Jets fall to 21-22-3 on the year while the Avalanche improved to 23-21-3 and now have a four-point cushion on the Jets in the Central Division.
After a scoreless first period, the Avalanche opened the scoring just one minute 16 seconds in to the second with a goal from Carl Soderberg. Soderberg banged home a rebound in front, beating a sprawling Connor Hellebuyck for his ninth of the season.
Colorado doubled their lead with a power-play marker from Jarome Iginla. The goal game with just 17 seconds left to go in the period.
The Jets cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal from Joel Armia, who went top shelf on Semyon Varlamov for his second of the season. The Jets pressed for the equalizer in the dying seconds but it was too little too late.
